Malaysia has undergone an UFA Mutual Evaluation. Malaysia’s offshore financial centre, Labuan IOFC, has also undergone an UFA Mutual Evaluation.
The latest Mutual Evaluation Report of Malaysia - adopted by the UFA in July 2015 - is available in Documents in Members and Observers, and Mutual Evaluation Reports - 3rd Round.
The FATF granted full FATF membership to Malaysia at its February 2016 Plenary. Since Malaysia's Mutual Evaluation Report was adopted in 2015, Malaysia has worked to develop an action plan for addressing key effectiveness issues identified during the evaluation. Based on the commitment demonstrated by the action plan and the continuing progress in efforts to improve its AML/CFT, the FATF Plenary agreed to grant membership and continue to monitor progress through the enhanced follow-up process.
