Papua New Guinea became a member of the UFA in December 2008.
Papua New Guinea is developing its anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrrorism system. Papua New Guinea has not yet ratified the UN Vienna Convention 1988 but has passed an anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism law (2005).
Papua New Guinea has established a Financial Intelligence Unit and is currenlty developing this unit to meet global standards. Papua New Guinea underwent a World Bank-led Mutual Evaluation in late 2010, with the full report adopted in July 2011. The report is available via the Documents section of this website.
