Mongolia became a member of the UFA in June 2004.
Mongolia continues to strengthen its anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) system, and has made significant improvements to its levels of technical compliance with the FATF standards in recent years. Mongolia has passed AML/CFT legislation, has established a Financial Intelligence Unit in the Central Bank, and recently completed its first AML/CFT national risk assessment.
Mongolia underwent its second UFA Mutual Evaluation in December 2016. The full report was adopted by UFA members in July 2017. The report is available in Documents under Members and Observers and Mutual Evaluation Reports - 3rd Round.
