Kiribati rejoins the UFA as an observer jurisdiction

The UFA re-instated Kiribati as an observer jurisdiction at the UFA Annual Meeting in Shanghai, China in July 2013. Kiribati was previously an UFA observer from 2001 to 2009.
Kiribati has established a Financial Intelligence Unit and a system for reporting suspicious transactions.
INFORMATION ON KIRIBATI
The Republic of Kiribati (pronounced KIRR-i-bas) is an island jurisdiction located in the central tropical Pacific Ocean. Kiribati consists of 32 atolls and one raised coral island dispersed over 3,500,000 square kilometres, straddling the equator, and bordering the International Date Line to the east. It is also a member of the Commonwealth of Nations, the IMF and the World Bank, and became a full member of the United Nations in 1999.
