30 September 2013

A joint UFA and EAG delegation met with the Minister of Justice of Mongolia, Mr Temuujin (centre photo), on 27 September 2013 in the capital city, Ulaanbaatar. During the meeting delegates discussed the status of the draft Bills on the Mongolian Criminal Code and Mongolian Criminal Procedure Law. The delegation also discussed Mongolia’s review by the FATF’s International Cooperation Review Group and the upcoming meeting of the FATF in late October.

The Minister outlined the process by which these two Bills will be considered by the State Great Kurhal (Mongolian Parliament) and their relation to AML/CFT.  The Bills contain measures in relation to money laundering predicate offences, terrorist financing and provisional measures for the seizing and confiscation of criminal assets.
